Between conversations about new shows across the country and an international invitation to perform, I’ve been up to my ears in it all this week. Still, I’ll never complain about being busy doing what I love.

Earlier in the week, I carved out some time to perform, record, and edit a new composition titled “Gemini IX.” Like all of my work, this piece was performed and improvised live.

The story behind Gemini IX traces back to February 28, 1966, at Lambert Field in St. Louis. Elliot See and Charles Bassett lost their lives during a foggy final approach, a tragic moment that deeply impacted both the astronaut corps and the broader space program. They were immensely respected—not only for their professional excellence but for who they were as people. The full weight of their story, and how it altered the course of the Gemini program, runs far deeper than what I can share here.

This piece is dedicated to those two men—who never lived to see the outcome of the program they helped make possible.
